Great neighborhood alert in Catonsville: Rollingwood!
I know lots of people who live in this sweet little neighborhood in Catonsville . Rollingwood (sometimes called Keeper Hill) is bordered top and bottom by Frederick Road and Edmondson and on either side by North Rolling Road and Devere. The neighborhood has several streets which play off the Rolling Road name such as Rollingwood, Rollingbrook and Rollingfield.
What’s not to love about Rollingwood! There are tons of school age kids here who go to Westchester Elementary School, Catonsville Middle School, and Catonsville High School. The neighborhood was built in the 1950’s and includes a number of original home owners as well but houses don’t stay on the market long when they do go up for sale! People who move to this neighborhood tend to stay!
Like a lot of Catonsville neighborhoods, you can walk to local shops and businesses from here. Opie’s and Scittino’s are just around the corner on Edmondson as well as the new Rollingbrook Yoga studio which was co-founded by a resident of this neighborhood. Family Affair Produce and Dimitri’s are also walking distance.
The Devere Playground here is well used by the many kids and families as well as people who come from all over Catonsville to play, picnic and use the basketball court.
Catonsville is a really convenient place to live, just up the street from Ellicott City, 10 minutes from Columbia & Baltimore and close to Washington, DC & Annapolis. We are close to everything but our community still has a small town feel including one of the best 4th of July parade’s around!
