An EPIK International Night in Catonsville.
Catonsville was culturally alive on Friday as Hillcrest Elementary School PTA hosted “International Night”.
This Annual extracurricular after school evening event for Hillcrest Hedgie students had parents of many nationalities (or good local knowledge) displaying information about different Countries.
EPIK Home Group proudly sponsored the bags that were given to every child so they could collect items from each Country. To start their journey each student collects a passport, their new EPIK backpack in bright Hillcrest ES colors and walks down the runway towards the gym.
A total of 18 countries were represented at “International Night”, interestingly six of the tables were decorated and displayed by our EPIK past clients (now Catonsville Homeowners) and EPIK Home Group Team members (Catonsville Residents themselves).
Each table had some kind of craft or game or delicious local treat for the children to experience, make and enjoy. Lots of interesting information, photos and visual aids.
Two of the tables were of clients that don’t even have children yet in this elementary school system. Ireland was represented by the Sullivans who just recently moved to Catonsville but are great friends of this community and EPIK. They made some tasty soda bread and even had Irish music playing.
Our table was of course England. We had a little help from Queen Elizabeth.
We had some pickled onions to sample and digestive biscuits (cookies). We also had a “Cockney Rhyming slang” quiz.
Dave hosted South Africa and had a great time connecting with Maureen who hosted New Zealand- one day before the Rugby World Cup semi final of his Country and hers.
Marta (Hungary) and Lisa (Italy) have children at the school, and are also EPIK MVP clients.
Additionally many families that we have helped with their Real Estate needs, attended the abundant cultural evening.
A notable mention for Germany, that was hosted by our very own EPIK Home Group agent Yvonne.
