Sykesville is a small suburb in Carroll County, Maryland and is about 1/2 hour drive to the Baltimore area. This location is a hot spot for first time home buyers! It offers decent land which is more affordable than other areas. The small drawback would be the commuting distance to Baltimore, Columbia, DC, etc.
